Learn AI by Doing It, Together

Every fortnight, a group of SME owners and team members meets for 90 minutes to work through AI in practice. Not theory. Not polished demos of tools you will never use. Real workflows, member-built systems, and honest discussion about what works and what does not.

The AI Momentum Guild is a fortnightly Zoom session with Simon Wallace-Jones, a weekly curated newsletter, a full session recording library with notes, and a community of business owners navigating the same challenges you are.

What Happens in a Session

Live Demonstrations

Tools used in real workflows, not sales demos. Recent sessions have included a 21-file organisation task completed in 30 seconds, an interactive client dashboard built live, and automated newsletter pipelines.

Member Presentations

Members regularly present working AI systems they have built. A salary calculator app built in 4 hours. An ISO 9001 documentation pipeline. Automated content that reviewers said “does not sound like AI.”

Structured Discussion

Sessions follow 1 or 2 topics, with Simon guiding the discussion toward practical takeaways. Members surface questions and challenges. The group solves them together. It is not a webinar, and it is not an open-ended chat.

Every Session Recorded

Every session from Session 1 is recorded and available to members. If you join mid-journey, you can work backwards through the full curriculum at your own pace. 15 sessions and growing.

What Members Are Building

Guild members are building real AI systems for their businesses. Here are a few examples.

“I turned days of manual ‘detective work’ into a 10-minute automated powerhouse.”

Mo transformed her property survey analysis from a grueling multi-day ordeal—chasing agents, waiting on callbacks, and manual data hunting—into a streamlined AI workflow. By teaching AI her specific methodology, she replaced the heavy lifting with a process that generates professional, fact-based reports.

The Result: A detailed analysis so robust it was accepted by professionals to justify a 40% uplift in a recent property valuation.

“I built an app and had it available for users in 4 hours. I do not write code.”

Chris built a financial planning tool for owner-led clients, with a lifestyle calculator, scenario modelling, and PDF report generation, in a single Saturday session using just voice input to AI.

“We automated our weekly email content. It does not sound like AI.”

Lisa built an automated pipeline that pulls from internal and regulatory sources and generates weekly emails in a specific writer’s voice. A human reviewer confirmed the content is factually correct and indistinguishable from human-written copy.

“Months of ISO compliance work compressed into weeks.”

Nick: The Guild keeps me sharp on where AI is heading. That context helped me see where an architected pipeline of structured drafting led to audit-ready output, compressing months of ISO 9001 documentation work into weeks.

A Safe Place to Learn

The guild is not a room full of experts. It is a group of business people at different stages of their AI journey, learning together in an environment where there are no stupid questions and no pressure to keep up.

Members stay because of the community and the safe, encouraging environment. People help each other. People share what did not work as well as what did. Simon facilitates with patience and positivity, and the group follows that lead.

If you are worried about being the least experienced person in the room, you will not be. And even if you were, nobody would mind.

Who Is the Guild For?

The guild is for business owners and senior managers in SMEs who want to implement AI practically, not just read about it. You do not need a technical background.

Members include owners of professional services firms, property companies, accountancy practices, and technology businesses. What they have in common is a desire to use AI in their day-to-day work and a willingness to share what they learn.

Prerequisites

To get the most from this group, you will need:

  • A paid subscription to at least one of the main AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, or Google Gemini, circa $20/month)
  • Access to Zoom and a Mac or PC to attend the sessions

About Simon

Simon Wallace-Jones has been building complex business software for over 20 years and runs Oxford Digital Marketing. He trains teams from Oxford and Imperial College Business in AI and analytics, and builds AI systems daily for his own clients and business.

The guild is not based on research about AI. It is based on what Simon and the members are building and testing this week. He brings real examples from real projects, shows what worked, and is honest about what did not.

Members describe Simon as encouraging, positive, and patient. He creates an environment where people feel comfortable asking questions, admitting what they do not know, and learning at their own pace.

Worried You’re Already Behind?

Most members felt that way when they joined. Some had never used an AI tool. Others had been experimenting but felt lost. The guild meets you where you are. There is no assumed knowledge, no pressure to keep up, and no stupid questions. The recording library means you can catch up at your own pace.
